Ather Energy is gearing up for a major product reveal on August 30, and all eyes are on its all-new AL platform, which promises to bring the brand’s most affordable e-scooter to date. The launch will take place during Ather’s annual Community Day — an event that now serves as a key showcase for the EV maker’s future roadmap.

This new platform is specifically built to support low-cost, high-efficiency electric scooters that can cater to budget-conscious buyers. While exact specs remain under wraps, the AL series is expected to:

- Retain Ather’s core tech DNA with OTA updates and connected features

By reducing manufacturing costs, Ather aims to compete more directly with the likes of Ola S1X, TVS iQube 2.2kWh, and Bajaj Chetak 2901 — all players in the sub-₹1 lakh (ex-showroom) segment.
Concept Vehicles and Platform Diversity
Ather has confirmed that the August 30 event won’t just be about the AL platform scooter. The brand also plans to reveal multiple new concept vehicles, many of which will likely be built on the same platform.
There’s also speculation that some concepts may use reworked versions of the Rizta and 450 series. This hints at a long-term strategy to diversify offerings across premium, mid, and budget categories.
Manufacturing Expansion in the Works
To support this upcoming product expansion, Ather is laying the foundation for a new factory at Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. The facility is part of the company’s long-term growth plan and is expected to begin operations in early 2026.
The AL platform scooters are likely to be among the first products manufactured at this new site, helping Ather scale efficiently while reducing production and delivery costs.
