Tata Motors just made owning an electric car feel safer. The Tata Curvv EV and Nexon EV 45 now come with a fresh promise. Both get a 15-year battery warranty. Earlier, Tata offered an 8-year cover. This new plan nearly doubles that.
If you already own a Nexon EV or Curvv EV, don’t worry. This warranty is not just for new buyers. Even current owners can get it. The company wants its buyers to feel more confident about going electric. After all, battery life is a big worry for anyone looking at EVs.
A 15-year battery cover is a huge deal. Tata calls it a ‘lifetime’ warranty. Technically, it’s valid for 15 years or unlimited kilometres from the day you register the car. But there’s a catch. Only the first owner can claim this long battery cover. If the car changes hands, the new owner won’t get the lifetime warranty. So, it’s smart to check this detail if you plan to buy a used Nexon EV or Curvv EV later.
More Sweeteners For Buyers
Tata didn’t stop with the warranty. There’s more. If you already have a Tata EV and want to buy a new Nexon EV 45 or Curvv EV, you can get a loyalty bonus. The company is giving a Rs 50,000 benefit when you exchange your older Tata EV for a new one. This is Tata’s way of keeping old customers hooked to their electric range.
Prices for the Curvv EV start at Rs 17.49 lakh and go up to Rs 22.24 lakh. It has two battery packs, a 45kWh and a bigger 55kWh option. The Nexon EV 45 is a bit more budget-friendly. It comes with 30.2kWh and 45kWh options. Prices here range from Rs 12.49 lakh to Rs 17.19 lakh. So, buyers have choices to match their budget and range needs.
Is This A Smart Move?
Tata knows that EV buyers often worry about battery life. Replacing a battery can be expensive. So, giving a 15-year cover helps people trust the brand more. The move might push more people to shift to electric. Plus, the loyalty bonus is a nice nudge for those who already trust Tata’s electric cars.
With more brands jumping into the EV game, Tata wants to stay ahead. A longer battery warranty and sweet exchange deals show how serious Tata is about keeping buyers happy for the long haul.
